Mr Rogers, an employee experiencing significant psychological distress, reported bullying and harassment from management. These incidents led to stress and anxiety, manifesting as night sweats, nightmares, and persistent rumination. Consequently, Mr Rogers’ mood deteriorated, resulting in agitation, anger, and a short temper, eventually rendering him unfit for work.

Mr Rogers faced severe stress, anxiety, mood swings, and was certified unfit for work due to workplace bullying and harassment. His perceived injustice was notably high, contributing to his psychological distress.
Given these challenges, Mr Rogers was referred to ELEV8 Consulting and commenced the Thrive and Flourish Program. This eight-session coaching program included self-reflection and journaling activities between dedicated coaching sessions with a Rehabilitation Consultant.
The program’s sessions focused on understanding the power of change, navigating the stages of acceptance, and addressing the root causes of perceived injustice. By cultivating a mindset conducive to growth, developing positive strategies, and fostering empathy, the program helped Mr Rogers reduce blame and shift his internal dialogue. Additionally, the sessions emphasised reframing and cognitive restructuring to transform thought patterns, ultimately enhancing his resilience and mental well-being.
Pre- and post-program assessments using the Injustice Experience Questionnaire demonstrated remarkable improvements:
- Pre-Score: 30 (High Injustice)
- Post-Score: 4 (Low Injustice)
This 87% reduction in perceived injustice highlights the program’s profound effectiveness. Following the program, Mr Rogers successfully returned to his pre-injury duties and hours with the same employer, showcasing not only a reduction in perceived injustice but also a comprehensive shift in mindset and coping mechanisms. The Thrive and Flourish Program significantly enhanced his mental well-being, enabling a successful return to work.
